It was a week where fantasy coaches would have been forced to field suspect rookies and escaped with a few nice surprises as a result, the only consistent theme for premium players this season is the inconsistency with the exception of a couple of players in defence.

DPPs are now available which should assist a few team movements, upgrades to premium players are now in full swing with several rookies approaching peak value.

Brisbane v Collingwood (Gabba)

Alex Witherden recorded a team high 25 Disposals at the Lions for 106pts, Lachie Neale was shut down collectively by the Magpies as a result he scored a season low 76pts.

Adam Treloar was dominant for Collingwood in Round 5 recording 35 Disposals, Brodie Grundy found it difficult to be part of the Magpie quick ball movement recording just 12 Disposals (78pts).

Nth Melbourne v Essendon (MRVL)

Trent Dumont may be starting to find his fantasy game, he scored 105pts against the Bombers to make it 3 consecutive 100pt games.

Zach Merrett was a completely underdone in Round 1 as he scored 50pts against the Giants, since then he has averaged 116.3pts including an average of 135.5pts from his last 2 games.

West Coast v Port Adelaide (OS)

The Eagles were crushed in wet conditions on Friday night, Jack Petrucelle kicked 5 Goals on his way to scoring 115pts.

Travis Boak found the going tough against a Mark Hutchings tag early, Ollie Wines increased his midfield usage and looked great for the first time this season.

Round 5 Injuries

GWS Giants v Fremantle (UNSW Manuka)

Jackson Hately was outstanding on debut for the Giants scoring 84pts, Coniglio worked hard for his 37 Disposals recording just 4 Marks (126pts).

Matt de Boer went to Brad Hill in Canberra on Saturday restricting him to just 60pts, Matt Taberner worked his way up & down each wing recording 13 Marks for 128pts.

Melbourne v St Kilda (MCG)

Max Gawn (97pts) was impacted a little by Braydon Preuss (83pts) in Round 5, Preuss did start to work his way out of the forward line this week recording 16 Hit Outs.

Jack Billings has enjoyed his move out of a small forward role this season scoring 105pts, Rowan Marshall struggled against bigger opponents this week for 13 Hit Outs & 53pts.

Richmond v Sydney (MRVL)

The week off for Dustin Martin worked wonders in Round 5 as he kicked 3 Goals for a score of 110pts, he did have a significant Mid/Fwd split.

The game style from John Longmire to defend deep does correlate into Jake Lloyd high scores, he added a season high 135pts in Round 5.

Western Bulldogs v Carlton (MRVL)

Tom Liberatore did spend a decent amount of time forward in Round 5 for just 72pts, Will Hayes found plenty of the ball early on debut for 71pts.

Sam Walsh hasn’t slowed down as yet as he scored 113pts in Round 5, Patrick Cripps was shadowed in the 2nd half in a major slow down for a game total of 93pts.

Adelaide v Gold Coast (AO)

Wayne Milera (43pts) started forward in Round 5 & was injured in the 2nd Qtr, Bryce Gibbs was moved to a half back role this week & scored 96pts.

Jarrod Witts continued his dominant early season form as he recorded 46 Hit Outs for a score of 123pts, he has averaged 124.5pts from his last 2 games.

Hawthorn v Geelong (MCG)

The early season form for Ricky Henderson continued in Round 5 as he recorded a career high 141pts, Henderson is averaging 27.2 Disposals this season (Season Ave: 110.4pts).

It was a slow roll for Patrick Dangerfield against Hawthorn as he struggled his way to 104pts, his Mid/Fwd split appeared to be high this week.
