Injury Update: Matthew Rowell

Gold Coast midfielder Matthew Rowell has been sidelined with a shoulder injury, early in the 1st Qtr against Geelong he was tackled to the ground landing on his shoulder.

Rowell was assisted from the ground and did not return, he later re-joined the team on the bench with his arm in a sling.

Rowell has undergone scans.

Update 7 July: Matthew Rowell will undergo surgery, he will be sidelined for 3 months.

Rowell averaged 21.3 Disposals, 1.0 Mark & 6.5 Tackles from his opening 4 games in 2020.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

After an outstanding start to his AFL career Rowell will now be sidelined for what is likely to be the remainder of the 2020 H&A season, he averaged 88.5pts from his first 4 games of the season.

Hugh Greenwood, David Swallow & Touk Miller were the 3 highest scoring players in Round 5, Greenwood scored 109pts while Swallow scored 94pts.

Rowell is a trade out in season long fantasy.
