6-6-6 Starting Positions

The space created at centre bounces will provide a new element to footy this season and will have a critical impact on fantasy scoring, the commentary from coaches/players in the pre-season has suggested that secondary stoppages will decrease & that players starting Inside 50s are unable to impact the first centre bounce contest.

Players that previously started off the back of the square likely need to be downgraded, those attending centre bounces & have a high clearance rate should maintain similar numbers.

2018 Centre Clearance Leaders (Average)

3.9 Jack Viney
3.3 Patrick Cripps
3.3 Dustin Martin
3.1 Tom Mitchell
3.1 Nat Fyfe

Players that start on a wing will likely have a larger role to play in centre bounce clearances as they can still impact the initial contest, forwards that have a mismatch will likely increase Inside 50 targets but that will likely fluctuate in-game & week to week.

By The Numbers: 2018 Points Per Inside 50

Kick-in Rules

There is no secret that players who take a large percentage of team kick-ins are set to be targeted by fantasy coaches heading into Round 1, however due to the space now available outlet players or those targeted from kick-ins are equally as important to keep the scores ticking over.

Players that were previously targeted for short kick-ins will now likely need to be downgraded as a result of the rule change, comments from players & coaches over the pre-season have repeatedly said that it is difficult to box teams in via defensive structures which will lead to longer kick-ins.

The scouting begins!
