Fantasy Impact
Sheezel was outstanding in 2023 averaging 97.3pts (AFL) playing mostly across half-back in his first season. His role didn’t actually develop until very late in the pre-season and was a confirmed role across half-back only at Round 1. Sheezel is quite talented and is able to move through congestion with ease at times, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see an increase in midfield usage in 2024. He was an elite junior playing a half-forward role but has quickly developed at AFL level. Nth Melbourne senior coach Alastair Clarkson is likely to want the ball in the hands of Harry Sheezel more often than not in 2024.

AFLRATINGS NEWS: Senior coach Alastair Clarkson praised the efforts of Harry Sheezel to play this week after dealing with a thumb and leg cork issue from Round 5. Clarkson added that it was a valuable lesson also dealing with opposition attention from Nick Holman today.
Clarkson said the move of Harry Sheezel forward in Q3 was to expose him to different areas of the ground and added it would be “foolish” to think we’d keep him at half-back the whole time. Clarkson added that playing multiple roles is “really valuable” for Sheezel.

Fantasy Impact: Harry Sheezel started in defence on Saturday finding plenty of ball early as a rebounding half-back. He spent time across half-back late in the pre-season game against the Bulldogs but has predominantly been a forward for most of his junior career. If he remains in defence his fantasy scoring rate should remain strong.
