Fantasy Impact: There is a possibility that Finn Maginness will go to Marcus Bontempelli this week if the comments by Luke Breust are a legitimate plan but keep in mind it is early in the week and before the Hawthorn coaching staff finalise structure/plans. Maginness has successfully shutdown Josh Kelly and Nick Daicos in recent weeks. Senior coach Sam Mitchell has consistently stated across the season that sending Maginness to play as an inside midfielder does compromise the Hawthorn midfield and that he is more likely to play his role on the outside (July 14) and we clearly know Marcus Bontempelli is an inside midfielder currently at the top of his game. Last week Mitchell was clear on the role for Maginness leading into the Collingwood game so hopefully that is the case again this week.

Fantasy Impact: Interestingly GWS senior coach Adam Kingsley provided similar comments before the game against the Bulldogs in Round 8 earlier this year. Bontempelli was outstanding recording 19 disposals in the opening half before Kingsley made a move in Q3 with Tom Green given the task to slow him down. Bontempelli has averaged 123.2pts from his last 11 games which includes 129pts against the Giants in Round 8.

Bontempelli has been used at a very strong rate at centre bounces to start the season and will do so for the remainder of the season if he remains healthy.
