GWS Giants small forward Phoenix Gothard will be on a limited training program to commence pre-season.
Gothard underwent off-season shoulder surgery, he will be in non-contact training until the early parts of 2027.
“Phoenix won’t be doing any contact work with his shoulder until the new year, but he’ll be running and doing football drills in the block before Christmas.” GWS Giants Head of Medical Services Andrew Ryan.
AFLRATINGS Fantasy Impact: Phoenix Gothard should be available for the start of the 2027 season, he’ll play mostly across half forward and on the outside to assist with ball transition.
Gothard averaged 14.3 disposals, 1.9 marks, 3.7 tackles and 1.1 goals from 16 games in 2026 at GWS (AF Ave: 61.9).
