There is a focus on playing ruck for new St Kilda player Max Ramsden.
Ramsden joined the Saints as a delisted free agent (DFA) this week after starting his AFL career at the Hawks.
Having played just 2 games at the Hawks in 2026 he was delisted in October.
Speaking on Friday (via SEN) Ramsden said there is a clear focus on training as a ruck over pre-season at St Kilda this summer.
Ramsden added his mobility around the ground is an asset with an ability to play forward if required but the main idea is to begin at his new club with the thought on playing ruck.
Max Ramsden was selected at pick 6 in the 2022 AFL Mid-season Draft by Hawthorn.
AFLRATINGS Fantasy Impact: Max Ramsden adds depth for the Saints at the ruck position, Alex Dodson now finds himself in a battle with Ramsden to be the no.2 ruck in the team behind Tom De Koning.
Ramsden averaged 9.5 disposals, 3.0 marks and 0.5 tackles from 2 games in 2026 at Hawthorn (AF Ave: 35.5).
