Taylor Adams will be sidelined for up to 8 weeks with a finger tendon injury, minor surgery will be required.

“The finger continually displaces, and has done so for some time. It had reached the stage where bracing the finger or taping it were not adequate solutions and it was not improving,”

“It is likely, though, that he will miss the first couple of rounds of the AFL season.. We’ll know more, obviously, once his recovery has begun.”
Collingwood GM of Football, Geoff Walsh.

Adams averaged 27.0 Disposals from 23 games in 2018, he has played in 93.8% of games since the beginning of the 2017 H&A season.

Taylor Adams

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Adams was set to be part of the premium core midfield group at the Magpies but that is now on hold, expect an increase in midfield usage for Scott Pendlebury & Brayden Sier.

The absence of Adams will create a shift in the midfield depth chart at Collingwood & will likely create opportunities in other positions, Nathan Buckley may opt to give younger talent on the list games early in the season.
