AFL Fantasy Game Notes: Round 1
Carlton v Richmond (MCG)
Ownership levels dropped after JLT 2 but Round 1 was no disappointment for Nic Newman scoring 115pts, Sam Walsh could be a lengthy hold after an excellent return of 87pts against Richmond.
Dustin Martin recorded 30 Disposals but only managed 81pts, Noah Balta struggled to impact finishing with 29pts putting his job security at high risk.
Collingwood v Geelong (MCG)
Adam Treloar (125pts) was the only player to score over 100pts in Round 1 for Collingwood, Brodie Grundy scored 84pts but recorded 5 Free Kicks against.
The midfield usage for Tim Kelly was high as he recorded 31 Disposals for a score of 108pts, Patrick Dangerfield scored 65pts in the second half to finish with 103pts.
Melbourne v Port Adelaide (MCG)
Christian Salem (128pts) was the player controlling the ball out of the backline for the Demons, Max Gawn started slowly & copped a fair bit of attention from Power players for a score of just 68pts.
It was the Tom Rockliff of old running hard to become an option forward of the ball, he scored 113pts in the second half for a total of 166pts. Travis Boak was also worth a mention scoring 144pts, it was the best Boak has looked in a long time with a high midfield usage.
Adelaide v Hawthorn (AO)
Despite the loss Adelaide recorded 440 Disposals, Matt Crouch & Rory Sloane were dominant recording 40 & 36 Disposals respectively.
James Sicily played in defence and provided a solid Round 1 score of 106pts, Jack Scrimshaw scored 38pts in the second half to save his day.

Brisbane (382 Disposals) were dominant after Qtr time, Lachie Neale recorded a team high 29 Disposals (18 Handballs).
Dom Sheed continued on from his great JLT Series form, he scored a game high 133pts and doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
St Kilda v Gold Coast (MRVL)
An outstanding first half from Matthew Parker set up very good return of 83pts on debut, Jack Billings was able to get his hands on the ball in the second half to save his day with 84pts.
Brayden Fiorini was able to benefit from the handy hit out work of Jarrod Witts as he recorded a game high 114pts, Pearce Hanley struggled to impact the scoring finishing with just 52pts.
GWS Giants v Essendon (SPO)
Nothing was going to stop Stephen Coniglio (161pts) putting up a huge score against a dismal Essendon, Tim Taranto also joined that party putting up 137pts.
Zach Merrett looked underdone scoring just 50pts, Devon Smith started forward early but saved his day with 60pts in the second half.
Fremantle v Nth Melbourne (Optus Stadium)
Nat Fyfe played only 79% time on ground but still managed 103pts, Lachie Schultz may tempt more than a few after his 83pts on debut as a small forward.
Jamie Macmillan was the one to lead the Kangaroos out of defence finishing with 118pts, Bailey Scott was very impressive scoring 97pts and is quite capable of starting on ground in your team.
