Scoring was quite volatile throughout Round 22, some preferred game match-ups failed to deliver which could have proven costly in Preliminary Finals.

As we enter Round 23 the final week of the 2019 H&A season, it is imperative to be up to date on all the news & notes in order to make the critical final 2 trades of the season.

AFL Fantasy Game Notes: Round 22

Each week of the H&A season there will be a few key notes from each game that may provide some benefit to your AFL Fantasy decisions.

Melbourne v Sydney (MCG)

Max Gawn (110pts) was able to take advantage of a very good match-up against the Aliir Aliir/ Sam Reid combo, unfortunately he was rested late with Hamstring tightness which should be monitored this week.

Oliver Florent (98pts) was again solid in his midfield role recording a team high 28 Disposals.

Carlton v St Kilda (MCG)

It was a quiet day for Patrick Cripps recording just 22 Disposals after being shadowed by Jack Steele (108pts), Sam Walsh was quiet again for just 67pts.

Dan Hannebery was able to back up from his solid score last week to post 92pts, Jack Billings (106pts) was solid again in his role out wide for the Saints.

Brisbane v Geelong (G)

Jarryd Lyons impact in the Lions midfield has been enormous since the Bye, he recorded a team high 126pts which included 11 Tackles.

Geelong slowed down in the second half, Tim Kelly (75pts) scored just 33pts in the final 2 Qtrs.

Adelaide v Collingwood (AO)

The Crows were dismantled by the Magpies in Round 22, the midfield numbers were down for several players including Matt Crouch (74pts) & Rory Sloane (60pts).

Scott Pendlebury wound back the clock in a dominant midfield outing for the Magpies, he recorded a game high 34 Disposals for 137pts.

Nth Melbourne Port Adelaide (MRVL)

The numbers were high for the Kangaroos as they recorded 514 Disposals, Todd Goldstein (127pts) was able to take advantage of a clear favourable match-up against the Peter Ladhams/Paddy Ryder combo.

Port Adelaide were quite poor, Travis Boak (104pts) & Dan Houston (97pts) were solid but a number of other key players including Tom Rockliff (48pts) failed.

Fremantle v Essendon (OS)

Despite recording 26 Disposals Nat Fyfe provided an underwhelming score of just 78pts, Ed Langdon (118pts) was solid again recording a game high 37 Disposals.

Zach Merrett posted 76pts in second half for a total of 124pts, Dylan Shiel (112pts) recorded an equal team high 27 Disposals.

Richmond v West Coast (MCG)

Dustin Martin (130pts) wasn’t targeted for shut down by the Eagles, he recorded a game high 35 Disposals.

Dom Sheed (42pts) has struggled for a number of weeks now, he recorded just 14 Disposals.

GWS Giants v Western Bulldogs (GS)

The Giants were poor in the second half, as a result plenty of premium players failed to finish off after decent first half scoring. Toby Greene did spend more time forward this week, he scored 37pts in the second half for a total of 99pts.

Josh Dunkley (150pts) scored 90pts in the second half in a dominant midfield performance, the late withdrawal of Tim English resulted in Jackson Trengove (74pts) moving into the No.1 Ruck role.

Hawthorn v Gold Coast (MRVL)

James Worpel (134pts) has increased his ceiling in recent weeks, he was able to take advantage of a decent match-up against an under performing Suns midfield.

Pearce Hanley (132pts) was able to recorded 34 Disposals across half-back for Gold Coast.
