Dion Prestia maintained a high usage rate through the middle of the ground in Round 1, Trent Cotchin was ranked No.2 recording 67.6% of team CBA’s. Dustin Martin split his time in the midfield & forward as he recorded 64.5% of team CBA’s, Marlion Pickett increased his midfield usage slightly from game 2 of the Marsh Community Series.
Overall Richmond did maintain consistency from the 2020 Marsh Community Series into Round 1 of the H&A season.

Ed Curnow recorded 93.5% of team CBA’s in Round 1 which was a significant increase from the Marsh Community Series, this was closely followed by Patrick Cripps at 90.3%. Marc Murphy increased his usage from the 2nd game of the Marsh Community Series, Sam Walsh did see a significant reduction from his pre-season midfield usage.
Carlton narrowed the midfield usage in Round 1 with 3 players recording high CBA’s, this was likely due to the scoreboard pressure the Blues were under from the early part of the game.
