Elliot Yeo recorded a team high 82.6% CBA’s in Round 1, new recruit Tim Kelly was ranked No.2 with 69.6%. A slight decline for the usage of Luke Shuey (52.2%) compared to his 2020 Marsh Community Series, Dom Sheed was used at 43.5% of CBA’s while Andrew Gaff recorded 39.1%.

The CBA usage for Jack Redden (13.0%) reduced in Round 1 as a result of Tim Kelly joining the Eagles, he remains part of the 6 player rotation in at CBA’s with his usage likely to fluctuate based on match-ups & availability.

Melbourne

Clayton Oliver recorded a team high 82.6% CBA’s in Round 1, Jack Viney was the No.2 ranked Melbourne player with 69.6%. The increased CBA usage over the pre-season for Christian Petracca played out the same way in Round 1, his usage was at 73.9%. Angus Brayshaw returned to the middle of the ground after spending much of 2019 in an outside role, his usage was 65.2%.

The CBA numbers for Melbourne in Round 1 were very consistent compared to the 2020 Marsh Community Series, the Demons appear to have a solid 4 players in at CBA’s but with the potential of a heavy workload due to a possible condensed fixture that rotation may expand.

Nathan Jones did not play in Round 1, James Harmes has moved to a half-back role in 2020.
