Sydney ruck Joel Amartey is still some time away from full training, he sustained a significant hamstring injury shortly after the AFL season was suspended in March.

The Swans will take a cautious approach with Amartey who is yet to make his AFL debut.

“Joel sustained the hamstring injury shortly after the shutdown whilst training by himself and it was a re-occurrence of a hamstring injury he has suffered previously,”

“We have had to take a fairly cautious approach with him.”

“He is back running and starting to do some training but he is probably at least four to six weeks away from a return to play.” Swans Head of Football Charlie Gardiner.

Amartey was selected at pick 28 in the 2017 Rookie Draft.
