Carlton
Sam Docherty (DK $9,300, DS $15,900) is clearly directing play for the Blues in defence, he is averaging 26.3 Disposals & 7.5 Marks this season (AFL Rank 2).
The Saints have been active in applying restrictive measures on key defensive opposition players early this season, there is the possibility Docherty could be a target on Thursday night which should be noted when building multiple line-ups.
If the game slows down to a ball control type scenario then a ceiling game for Docherty is very much in play, pairing him with Kade Simpson in this type of game could be a worthwhile strategy.
St Kilda
Last week Saints coach Brett Ratten pulled the pin on a dual Ruck set up for now, Rowan Marshall (DK $7,700, DS $13,650) scored a season high 89pts.
The match-up for Marshall as solo Ruck is extremely appealing against Marc Pittonet, a ceiling game is very much in play on Thursday night.
Marshall isn’t overly expensive on both platforms which will increase ownership, his dual position status on DS makes him a viable play Forward while also starting Pittonet.

After averaging 78.5pts is his opening 2 games Dan Hannebery (DK $5,200, DS $10,480) has averaged just 50.0pts from his last 2, Saints midfielder Zak Jones has been ruled out with a hamstring injury which does open up the possibility Hannebery could be used as an inside midfielder on Thursday night.
Hannebery has been used at a low rate at centre bounces for the most of this year, but that spiked a little last week when he was used at 44.8% of CBA’s.
When placed in a premium scoring position there is no doubt the scoring can tick over at a high rate for Hannebery, he’s going to be hard to ignore at his current low salary on both platforms.
