St Kilda midfielder Zak Jones was unable to regain full fitness for Round 5 team selection, he injured his hamstring last week against Richmond where he failed to complete the game.

The Carlton-St Kilda was moved from Saturday to Thursday night in Round 5, this reduced the amount of days available for Jones to recover.

Jones is set to miss 1 week according to Saints media on Wednesday night, the injury was described as hamstring tightness by the club.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Jones has been a main feature in the midfield for the Saints this season, he was used at 65.6% of team CBA’s in the opening 3 games of the season.

The Saints have multiple options to run through the midfield in Round 5, they include Hunter Clark or even experienced midfielder Dan Hannebery. Jade Gresham may also see a bump in usage at CBA’s.

The Saints have stated the injury for Jones is tightness only, he can be a hold in season long fantasy based on that information.
