“Really the aim and objective of that operation was to stabilise his finger”

“We all know Joel very well, we’ve seen him over many years, he’s been out training today which is exciting and we know what his mental fortitude is like, so he’ll give himself every opportunity to play this weekend.”

“We’ll test it out fully come Friday this week.” Cats GM of Football Simon Lloyd

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Joel Selwood has been durable over his career but 2020 has restricted his output to just 12 of 18 games, he has averaged 62.6pts.

The coaching staff at Geelong have been cautious with Selwood returning from injury for most of the 2020 season, although his centre bounce usage has been strong when available the fantasy output has taken a backward step in 2020.

Selwood will turn 33 in the 2021 season, he may be a consideration for many if he completes an uninterrupted pre-season.
