Alex Witherden has been traded to West Coast, he played 59 career games at Brisbane after being selected at pick 23 in the 2016 AFL Draft.

“At just 22, Alex has plenty of growth ahead of him which is exciting. He is in the age bracket where he can grow and develop alongside some of our emerging mid-sized defenders like Liam Duggan, Jackson Nelson, Tom Cole and Josh Rotham in years to come.” West Coast list manager Darren Glass.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Alex Witherden averaged 77.8pts from 6 games in 2020, he scored a season high 93pts in Round 9 against Essendon.

The defensive kick/mark game of West Coast should suit Witherden, it’s also reasonable to assume he could be part of the kick-in group from opposition behinds.

Witherden is a definite consideration for AFL Fantasy classic, his ADP should also be strong in draft.
