Patrick Dangerfield is yet to join in full training so far this pre-season, there are concerns he is struggling to overcome a groin concern which dates back to last season.Â
Over the weekend @cleary_mitch confirmed Dangerfield was consulting a third-party specialist in Adelaide for treatment, with the 2021 H&A season just over 7 weeks away his preparation has already been impacted.

Geelong defender Tom Stewart confirmed earlier this week that Dangerfield “hasn’t at the moment” joined in training for the 2021 pre-season, although he didn’t divulge the exact nature of the concern.Â
“He’s.. had a lot of years where his body has been battered & bruised, I think the physio staff & the medical staff are just being a bit patient with him at this point in time & give him a bit more time to recover.” Tom Stewart.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
Dangerfield averaged 79.9pts from 21 games in 2020, he scored a season high 110pts against Collingwood in Round 7.
The red flags are common for players that have an injury interrupted pre-season, this situation is no different for Dangerfield at this stage.Â
Waiting for further information in the coming weeks will be decisive as to make an informed decision, we already know Dangerfield was managed out of centre bounces for several games last year so Geelong senior coach Chris Scott will be patient on Dangerfield late in the pre-season if necessary.Â

Based on a limited pre-season Dangerfield is likely a wait & see in AFL Fantasy classic, he’ll likely slide a few spots in 10 team standard draft leagues.Â
