AFL FANTASY TAKE

Harmes averaged 49.7pts from 13 games in 2020, he scored a season high 77pts against Sydney in Round 15.

The Harmes move into the midfield does strengthen the role in defence for Jayden Hunt, the Harmes move will also likely interrupt centre bounce rotations from last season.

Melbourne ran pretty much a narrow group in at centre bounces in 2020, if senior coach Simon Goodwin intends keep a small group active in the middle then there appears to be one player that could be on the outer in 2021.

Harmes is likely to come in at No.4/5 in centre bounce rotations, Clayton Oliver, Christian Petracca & Jack Viney should be the top 3. Unless the usage for Petracca is reduced to spend more time forward.

The Demons are certainly an interesting watch over the remainder of their pre-season.

The value for Harmes increases based on his role & starting salary for Round 1 in AFL Fantasy classic, that can be adjusted based on just how much midfield usage he will likely see this season.

He averaged 93.7pts from 22 games in 2019, he was used at a high rate through the middle of the ground.

Harmes can be moved up several spots in 10 team standard draft leagues.
