Coaching Tendencies/Game Style
Brisbane remained an efficient team moving the ball Inside 50 last season, they were ranked No.1 averaging 6.2 Disposals per Inside 50 in the H&A season.
Lachie Neale was a standout in the Brisbane midfield last season, he averaged 26.9 Disposals, 4.2 Marks & 3.1 Tackles which culminated in him winning the 2020 Brownlow Medal.Â
Under senior coach Chris Fagan the Lions have not been a high disposal team, they were ranked 16th in the 2020 H&A season averaging 282.9 Disposals & were ranked 17th in 2019.
Brisbane completed a couple of significant off-season moves that could impact from a fantasy perspective in 2021, Stefan Martin has departed the club which likely puts Oscar McInerney in a solo ruck role this season.
Key forward Joe Daniher arrives the Brisbane via free agency in the off-season, he’ll certainly change the dynamic of the forward line.Â
Brisbane were the 2nd ranked team in 2020 scoring 69.6pts in the H&A season, with the addition of Daniher they likely just became more potent.Â
Not sure too much will change as far as game style is concerned this year for Brisbane, once again they’ll likely be an efficient team at getting the ball Inside 50.

2021 Targets
Lachie Neale MID
Neale took his fantasy game to a new level in 2020, he averaged 96.3pts from 19 games.
The ceiling games in 2020 were extremely impressive for Neale, he scored 80pts or more in 78.9% of games & 100pts or more in an elite 52.6% of games.Â

Neale was used at an extremely high rate of 89.8% of Brisbane centre bounces last season, his usage in 2021 should remain quite high.Â
The main drawback on starting with Neale this season will be his starting salary, there is the very real possibility of a price fall with an average of 122.4pts to instantly maintain.
Ownership may be on the thin side for Neale especially as the salary crunch begins to hit closer to Round 1, if his salary increases early he may be difficult to obtain for quite a while throughout 2021.

Joe Daniher FWD
Daniher clearly wanted out at the Bombers & a fresh start to his career which has been riddled by injuries, in the off-season he successfully became a Brisbane player via free agency.Â
The starting salary for Daniher is very enticing, key forwards do deliver volatile scores which can heavily impact overall rank.
Daniher has the type of ceiling that can offset his low scoring games, in favourable match-ups in 2021 the scores could flow at a high rate.
The efficient ball movement by Brisbane Inside 50 puts Daniher in a good position to succeed, there is very good upside potential in what is likely to be a deep forward role this season. Â

Nakia Cockatoo MID/FWD
Many coaches will be looking for salary savings across starting line-ups, one such player that does offer that is Nakia Cockatoo.Â
The injury concerns are well known, these will take a while to subside even after a move to the Lions & a strong first up pre-season.Â
Interestingly Brisbane senior coach Chris Fagan recently stated Cockatoo was playing a role across half-back in match simulation, there is definite potential as a value selection especially in a premium scoring role coming out of defence.Â
Fantasy: The role for Nakia Cockatoo in 2021
As we get closer to Round 1 Cockatoo if healthy will be on the radar for many, if options are limited then expect high ownership to begin the season.Â
Tracking every piece of information of the pre-season is a priority if interested in Cockatoo, there is risk but there is also potential upside.

One Big Question
Will Chris Fagan provide extra inside midfield help to assist Lachie Neale in 2021?
