There is further clarity on the roles for Connor Rozee, Zak Butters & Orazio Fantasia this season, with the H&A season just around the corner both Rozee & Butters are expected to see an increase in midfield usage.
Travis Boak provided an insight on the role for each via SEN on Wednesday morning.
Boak stated Fantasia has been training with the forward line group this pre-season, and that this will have an impact for both Rozee & Butters.
“That’s where he’s been training most of pre-season, he’ll slot right in there. I think he’ll add a lot to our group,” Boak on Fantasia.

“obviously with Connor (Rozee) & (Zak) Butters in there they’ll probably look to work up the ground a little bit more & hopefully get a bit more of the footy & that allows Raz (Orazio Fantasia) to fit in nicely into our half forward line.”
The addition of Fantasia in the off-season provides the opportunity for Rozee & Butters to increase their midfield usage in 2021.
Rozee was used at 14.2% of total 2021 Port Adelaide centre bounces last season, he played 16 of 19 games.
Butters was used at 1.8% of total 2021 Port Adelaide centre bounces last season, he played 17 of 19 games.

Travis Boak, Tom Rockliff, Ollie Wines & Sam Powell-Pepper were the main group in at Port Adelaide centre bounces in 2020, both Rozee & Butters are likely to see an increase in midfield usage this season. This may not be necessarily through centre bounce usage.
Figuring out the centre bounce mix at the Power will go a long way in forecasting the potential upside for Rozee, increasing his % out of deep forward does increase his fantasy scoring opportunities.
Butters does have a contested type game & wouldn’t be out of place seeing an increase playing inside midfield.
A fair bit worked for Power senior coach Ken Hinkley last year, would he be willing to make major changes which could see Rozee & Butters increasing their scoring at a high rate?
Rozee is an option for AFL Fantasy classic at Round 1, Butters & Fantasia are a pass (keep an eye on Butters via your watch-list).
Rozee might be worth taking a flyer on if he’s still available at the midway point of 10 team standard draft leagues.Â
