Tom De Koning has been sidelined from pre-season training, he has sustained a back injury.
The injury has been described as a low-level stress reaction to his back via Carlton media, he is expected to miss the start of the H&A season.

“Given the nature of this type of injury, we suspect Tom will miss the first few games of the season to allow his body to rest and recover accordingly. We expect at that point that Tom will then be available for selection.” Blues Head of Football Brad Lloyd.

De Koning is the long term option at the ruck position for Carlton, the latest injury setback will likely result in the Blues being overly cautious.
