“With the respect and the love they’ve got for ‘Pato’ you could see the mood change. Even when we went back out, the first five minutes was pretty flat.”
“He’s in good hands with our doctors. It’s just disappointing that he’s done a lot of work and he won’t get the reward this year.” Brett Ratten via AFL.com.au.
Paton played all 19 games for the Saints last season.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
Paton averaged 49.1pts from 19 games in 2020, he scored a season high 72pts in Round 3 against Collingwood & Round 8 against Port Adelaide.Â
The unfortunate injury to Patton will create an opening in defence for the Saints, other injury issues will also add to the opportunities available early in the H&A season.Â
One player to keep an eye on for an early season debut may be Tom Highmore.
Nothing but praise for Tom Highmore out of the Saints over pre-season, he should be well & truly on your fantasy pre-season watch list. 🚀
