Jye Caldwell will be sidelined for an extended period, he injured his hamstring in the 3rd quarter against Port Adelaide in Round 2.
Caldwell has been diagnosed with a significant hamstring strain, he is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

“Scans confirmed that Jye sustained a more significant hamstring strain, and we will see how he progresses over the next week, but unfortunately we expect him to miss the next six to eight weeks of football.” Bombers GM of Football Josh Mahoney.
Caldwell recorded 22 Disposals & 9 Tackles in his Essendon debut in Round 1.

Caldwell scored 104pts in Round 1, he was used at 53.3% of centre bounces.
The injury will likely result in high centre bounce usage for Darcy Parish, Zach Merrett & Andrew McGrath over the coming weeks.
Dylan Shiel is also sidelined with a knee injury.Â
