2021 Fantasy: Round 23 Top 5 Trade Targets Under $300K

Round 23 of the 2021 H&A season begins on Friday night, @aflratingsPete ranks the Top 5 Trade Targets Under $300K in AFL Fantasy classic.

The following list is a balanced opinion of which players to target, the comments are important to acknowledge; ability, playing role, job security, cash generation & potential scoring output have an influence on the rank.

1. Kieran Strachan (Adelaide) RUCK/FWD $247K BE 4

Strachan made his AFL debut last week, he recorded 11 Disposals, 5 Marks & 25 Hit Outs for 73pts. Reilly O’Brien is unavailable to return in Round 23, Strachan will again be the No.1 ruck option for the Crows. He will provide decent bench cover in the final round of the H&A season, using him the utility position as an emergency for the final game could provide an extra edge if anything unforeseen eventuated with late withdrawals over the weekend.

Season Ave: 73.0

2. Luke Foley (West Coast) DEF $295K BE 17

Foley comes back into the West Coast team this week & should be in a decent scoring position from a fantasy perspective, he’s likely to play across half-back. Foley scored 67pts in Round 12 & 90pts in Round 13. With the loss of several key players at the Eagles this week expect Foley to be well placed to impact, he should be decent cover if required in defence.

Season Ave: 48.8

3. Connor West (West Coast) MID $298K BE 24

West returns to the West Coast line-up this week, he should see at least a sprinkling of inside midfield usage, he’s averaged 55.3pts from 4 games since being selected in the mid-season draft & scored a season high 76pts on debut in Round 18. West can provide extra depth & cover to your midfield in the final round of the H&A season.

Season Ave: 55.3

4. Will Martyn (Richmond) MID $171K BE 23

Martyn returns to the Richmond team this week & he returns with a decent opportunity to impact from a fantasy perspective. The Tigers have made several key changes this week, those changes should open up decent midfield opportunities against the Hawks. Martyn has averaged 25.1 Disposals, 4.9 Marks & 6.5 Tackles from 10 games at VFL level this year.

Season Ave: 26.0

5. Thomson Dow (Richmond) MID $247K BE -3

Thomson Dow should see plenty of opportunities through the midfield this week, he’s averaged 12.8 Disposals, 3.3 Marks & 1.0 Tackle from 4 games at AFL level in 2021. He recorded a season high 73pts against Nth Melbourne in Round 21, with several key Tigers sidelined through injury this week Dow should be able to impact quite nicely from a fantasy perspective.

Season Ave: 44.3
