Injury Update: Hayden Young

Hayden Young has undergone minor surgery, the procedure was not considered serious.  

He will be on a modified program for the remainder of 2021, he is expected to resume full training in the new year.

“Hayden has recently had a procedure for a non-football related issue. It involved a surgical procedure to drain an abscess,” 

“Hayden will be on a modified program until Christmas.

“Given he has completed a large amount of training over the leave period, we are confident that this will be only a minor interruption.” Fremantle EGM of Football Peter Bell. 

Young averaged 15.9 Disposals, 5.6 Marks & 2.4 Tackles from 8 games in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Hayden Young averaged 68.9pts from 8 games in 2021, he recorded a season high 93pts in Round 21 against Brisbane. 

He averaged 85.5pts from his final 4 games of the season.

The latest injury setback isn’t considered serious for Young, he is fully expected to play in Round 1.

Young is a strong consideration for season long fantasy at Round 1, he is likely to exceed his starting salary. Expect strong ownership. 

He’s a mid round selection in single season draft leagues, there is scoring upside potential compared to his previous output in the AFL.
