Carlton senior coach Michael Voss has provided an update on Sam Docherty, there is no current timeline for a return from testicular cancer for the defender at this stage.
Voss said Docherty is being assessed each session, he spoke in front on fans at training on Friday.
“We won’t put a timeline on at the moment, because it’s really based off the back of how he feels and how he handles each of the loads that he continually progresses into his program.”

“He’s going amazingly well,”
“He’s been joining in our training sessions, mainly around our skill and development.”
“He’s hitting his markers where he needs to be physically by his weight and how he is recovering from session to session,”
“But like any of this, we’ll go on how he feels.” Voss said.
Docherty averaged 24.3 Disposals, 7.6 Marks & 2.2 Tackles from 14 games in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Sam Docherty averaged 98.6pts from 14 games in 2021, he scored a season high 123pts against the Bulldogs in Round 6.
Health is the absolute priority for Docherty prior to a return to football, at this stage from a fantasy perspective it is a waiting game.

It is likely Docherty will play a similar role across half-back when he does return to footy, his scoring output should remain strong.
For now Docherty is a pass in season long fantasy, hopefully he can return to full health.
If he is available at the midway point of a single season draft leagues it might be worth selecting him.
