Lycett will be a “wait and see” pending scan results after rolling his ankle.
Assistant coach Brett Montgomery provided insight into the performance of Hayes and saying he would be ready to debut if Lycett in unable to play in Round 1.

“I thought Sam had some good moments,”
“Probably lacked a little bit a little bit of connection with players and I’m talking senior players here around stoppage that he hasn’t spent any meaningful game time with.”
“So I think he found that a challenge.”
“Some of his tap work didn’t turn into anywhere near the reward we hoped it would’ve and he would’ve expected, so there’s some work for all of us to do there.”
“He got around the ground a little bit better than perhaps people have given him credit for in the past,”
“The challenge is for all of us to make sure that Haysey is ready.”
“The realities are he sits second in our ruck category and he needs to be ready, we’ll put a mountain of work in, he’s put a mountain of work in and his SANFL form has been good.”
“If his challenge comes or his opportunity pops up, I think he’ll be ready.” he said.
Sam Powell-Pepper injured a “hamstring”, Connor Rozee was ankle managed with a “slight” ankle concern.
Montgomery also said that Josh Sinn was a “positive” holding up “pretty well”, he would be “every chance” to debut in Round 1 based on that performance.
