Round 5 of the 2022 AFL H&A season began on Thursday night, @aflratingsPete lists the Top 5 Players Under $300K for Round 5.
The order takes into account historical performance, ability to make a substantial profit, opportunity and scoring output in their actual team role plus subjective and balanced input.
The ability to remain best 22 is also a strong consideration.
This list will assist in identifying players to target ahead of Round 5, it may adjust based on team selection & availability.
Final updates (if any) will occur on Friday afternoon.

TOP 5 AFL FANTASY PLAYERS UNDER $300K – (FINAL UPDATE)
1. Finn Callaghan
Callaghan will make his AFL debut this week, he’s an elite midfield talent that can win plenty of his own ball.
He’s likely to play mostly on the outside early in his career but don’t rule out an inside midfield role at times.
If he can adapt quickly to AFL level a spot in the best 22 for a sustained period of time is possible, his ROI should be quite decent.

2. Nathan O’Driscoll
There is a selection squeeze coming at Fremantle with players returning, the form of O’Driscoll should be good enough for him to hold his spot in the short term at least.
His scoring rate has been quite decent to consider starting each week but the scores could remain volatile early in his career.
The ROI even if targeting this week is likely too good to pass up.
3. Hugh Dixon
With Nic Naitanui sidelined due to injury for an extended period of time the opportunity for Dixon to hold his spot has increased.
His scoring rate is starting to increase with important minutes through the middle of the ground.
The ROI for Dixon should be quite healthy from here.

4. Marcus Windhager
Windhager was solid enough last week in his AFL debut, his body size allowed him to compete against older and more experienced types.
His salary is still quite decent to target, his scoring rate should be good enough to provide a decent ROI.
5. Corey Durdin
Durdin comes back into the Carlton team this week his spot in the best 22 appears to be quite solid when available.
His small forward role does limit his scoring output, he can move up the ground in general play to become part of the chain link in ball movement.
Durdin should provide decent bench cover for an extended period, his ROI should be good enough for the role he plays.
*Sam Hayes & Ben Hobbs would be a consideration if they play this week.
