AFL Fantasy News: Max Gawn is an option to play more forward.
This according to Melbourne senior coach Simon Goodwin on Thursday.
Gawn has been used at 65.7% of centre bounces this season at the ruck position.
He is averaging 25.6 hit outs and has kicked 11 goals for the season.

Goodwin confirmed they have made adjustments to the forward line in recent weeks and were still looking for improvement.
“It’s still an area that we’re continuing to look at improve on.”
“Last week was a little bit more challenging, we just didn’t get the supply that we needed.”
“But we are continuing to work on cohesion and connection there’s no doubt about that.”

“That is definitely an option of Gawny playing a little bit more time forward.”
“But we’ll make a few little adjustments again, we’re learning more and more about our forward line group in the last month.” Goodwin said.
When asked specifically whether Gawn could be used more forward this week considering the lack of height available at Port Adelaide he wasn’t willing to commit to any change but rather focusing on improvement and a return to form for the ruck combination which includes Gawn and Luke Jackson.
”We’ll look at it from a quarter to quarter thing for us where we need Max and where we need some dominance whether that’s in the forward line or in the middle.”
“We’ve got enormous confidence in both Luke Jackson and Max Gawn to deliver us what we need to in the ruck.”

“We’ll make that assessment on game day but first and foremost we need to get those two guys really being dominant aerial players again in our game,”
“Get them back to some really good form that they had 3 or 4 weeks ago.” he added.
