Lachie NealeÂ
Projected votes: 27
Coming off a severely injury interrupted 2021 season Neale was primed for a big year with a huge pre-season according to many at Brisbane over the summer months.Â
Neale should receive votes early and is projected to be on 19 votes at Round 11, from that point in the season it was relatively quite from a vote perspective which includes games that he was targeted for shutdown by opposition teams.Â
Patrick Cripps
Projected votes: 27
Cripps also had a very strong pre-season coming off a back injury in 2021, he should poll extremely well in the early rounds.Â
He is projected to be on 18 votes at the conclusion of Round 8.
The middle of the year was very quiet for Cripps with little to no votes expected but his finish was strong and should be rewarded with votes.
Importantly for Cripps his projected votes do include games in which Carlton did lose but he performed well.
Christian PetraccaÂ
Projected votes: 24
Petracca was another that should start the season well especially at Round 1.
He is projected to be on 15 votes at Round 10 and have a sprinkling of votes to finish the season.Â
Petracca was battling a few injury concerns throughout the year and will be in a battle with Clayton Oliver and Max Gawn for votes in Melbourne’s 10-game winning streak to start the year.
Andrew BrayshawÂ
Projected votes: 21
Brayshaw was on fire early at Fremantle and should be right at the top of the leader board for most of the count.
He is projected to be on 18 votes at Round 13.
Brayshaw will need to maximise his early vote return as he is not projected to receive any votes after Round 17.
The positive for Brayshaw should be little opposition at Fremantle taking votes from his strong performances.Â

Clayton OliverÂ
Projected votes: 21
It would be no surprise if Oliver was right in the thick of it at the end of the count after an enormous season.
The 21 projected votes does feel a little light, if he can turn his good performances into maximum vote returns then he is a genuine shot to win outright.Â
He is projected to be on 12 votes after Round 10, his chances will increase significantly if he is well above that range at that point in the season.Â
Oliver will be in a battle for votes with Christian Petracca and Max Gawn in Melbourne’s 10-game winning streak to start the season.
Callum Mills
Projected votes: 20
Mills was extremely impressive in the first part of the season.
He is projected to be on 14 votes at Round 12.Â
The centre bounce opportunities for Mills were reduced in the second half of the season which could hurt his chances of receiving votes.
It still should be a very strong vote return.
Touk MillerÂ
Projected votes: 14
If Miller can hit the votes early in the season then he could be in for a high finish.Â
The 14 projected votes does feel extremely light for a very strong season from Miller.Â
Miller is not without a chance to win, he’ll be competing for votes with Noah Anderson in Gold Coast winning games who also completed a very strong season.
