AFL Fantasy Analysis: Aaron Cadman was selected at pick 1 in the 2022 AFL Draft by GWS, he was recruited from Greater Western Victoria Rebels/Vic Country.

He plays as a key forward and is currently 195cm and 91Kg.

Cadman is quite athletic and was moved from a wing to a key forward role in 2022.

GWS National Recruiting Manager Adrian Caruso provided a brief update after Cadman was selected.

“Aaron had a really strong year this year where he impacted consistently for both the GWV Rebels and Vic Country,”

“He is a mobile key forward who can get up the ground as well as impact closer to goal.” Caruso said.

Cadman also averaged 13.8 disposals, 6.3 marks, 1.8 tackles and kicked 10 goals from 4 games in the 2022 U18 National Championships.

Fantasy Impact: Aaron Cadman will provide an additional key forward target for the Giants, he is quite athletic and has the ability to work up and down the ground.

He has excellent game awareness and strong hands in marking contests. He can also create his own space with his height and agility.

The short term fantasy prospects appear to be quite solid, he should see multiple opportunities at AFL level in 2023.

His long term prospects also appear to be healthy compared to other key forwards, his ability to move up the ground working his opponents over will be a valuable asset.

Season long fantasy: Cadman is a consideration to start with at Round 1, if he completes a strong pre-season his opportunities at AFL level should be pretty decent in 2023. Be aware his key forward role could provide an inconsistent scoring output.

Single season draft leagues: He’s likely a pass in single season draft leagues. Keep an eye on his early season output for any potential waiver consideration.

DFS: He’ll likely provide decent fantasy scores as he matures but certainly in favourable match-ups he’s a consideration early in his career at an expected salary discount.
