Tsatas is a speedy midfielder that can accumulate disposals at a high rate.

Essendon GM of List and Recruiting Adrian Dodoro provided a brief update after Tsatas was selected.

“We’re really excited. We think he is a fabulous player and we are wrapt to have him,”

“He is exactly what we wanted in our midfield. He’s 188cm, he has great speed, great balance and he is high ended.” Dodoro said.

Tsatas recorded 29 disposals, 6 marks and 1 tackle from 1 game in the 2022 U18 National Championships.

Fantasy Impact: Elijah Tsatas will add a speed dynamic to the Essendon midfield.

He can find open space comfortably and assist with ball transition, he also works quite well from inside the contest and has a strong ability to evade traffic and congestion.

The short term fantasy prospects appear to be decent, he will likely be used on the outside early in his career and should see multiple opportunities at AFL level in 2023.

His long term prospects are likely to be very good as he develops his endurance over a longer AFL season, he has the potential to be a well balanced midfielder with multiple attributes.

Season long fantasy: Tsatas is a consideration at Round 1 and is a definite track on his progress over pre-season, he can accumulate disposals at a very high rate with an optimal midfield role. He was hampered by a footy injury in 2022.

Single season draft leagues: He’s likely a late round option in single season draft leagues.

DFS: He’ll be a target early in his career with what should be an outside midfield role and an expected low entry level salary.
