AFLRATINGS NEWS: Colby McKercher may be set to play some time in defence in 2024.

Selected at pick 2 in the 2023 AFL Draft there has now been multiple comments to support a defensive role for McKercher in his first season.Â
National list and recruiting manager Brady Rawlings said immediately following the draft that McKercher could be special if they decide to play him off the half-back line.

Defensive coach Jed Adcock said on Friday (via SEN) that McKercher might spend some time in defence.Â
McKercher averaged 32.5 disposals, 5.8 marks and 3.8 tackles from 4 games for the Allies in the 2023 U18 National Championships.
