Rory Laird Role

AFLRATINGS NEWS: There is further clarity on the role for Rory Laird this season. 

Adelaide assistant coach Nathan van Berlo said this week that Laird may spend some time ahead of the ball in 2024.

He added that Laird is a genuine inside midfielder and has previously spent time across half-forward when he’s received opposition attention.

He was also clear that if Izak Rankine is exposed to more centre bounces then Laird could also be used ahead of the ball.  

Laird averaged 29.0 disposals, 3.0 marks and 8.0 tackles from 22 games in 2023.
