Senior coach Simon Goodwin said recently they wanted to get some exposure for McVee through the midfield.
Goodwin added there was a need to add some depth and rotation through the middle of the ground.Â
Clayton Oliver has been ruled out for the remainder of the season which may provide others including McVee an opportunity to play decent minutes through the midfield.
Trent Rivers has been used at 65.9% of team centre bounces since Round 15, Koltyn Tholstrup has also been used at centre bounces in the last 2 weeks (32.1% & 5.6%).Â
Christian Petracca has not played since Round 13, Jack Viney will turn 31 at the start of next season while Angus Brayshaw was forced into retirement earlier this season.Â
Goodwin will likely explore midfield options to finish the season with a view to the 2025 season.
Melbourne play Gold Coast and Collingwood in their final 2 games of the H& season.Â
