AFLRATINGS NEWS: Jason Horne-Francis has provided an update on his role for the 2025 season.Â
Following a near full pre-season heading into last year Horne-Francis missed 2 games early in the 2024 H&A season with a hamstring issue, he played 24 games and a runner-up finish in the John Cahill Medal.

Speaking this week (via Triple M) Horne-Francis said he’s looking for improvements in his game, he spent part of his pre-season late last year in the US for additional training in preparation for the 2025 season.Â
Last season Horne-Francis was used at 54.2% of team centre bounces in games he played, with the return of Sam Powell-Pepper from injury and the recruitment of forward Joe Berry there is likely less need for him to be pushed forward of the ball with a healthy forward group.Â

Horne-Francis added that senior coach Ken Hinkley has discussed a permanent role in the midfield for the upcoming season, previously Hinkley stated he was prepared to share the load between his inside mids.Â
If Horne-Francis is to see a spike in midfield usage this season which includes centre bounces then there would need to be an adjustment made within the midfield group.Â
Horne-Francis averaged 21.8 disposals, 4.4 marks and 3.0 tackles last season.
