2025 AFL Draft: Day 1

AFLRATINGS NEWS: Day 1 of the 2025 AFL Draft is in the books.

A total of 25 selections were made in the first round.

Willem Duursma was selected as the no.1 overall draft pick by West Coast, the Eagles then added Cooper Duff Tytler at pick 4.

Gold Coast matched an early bid for Zeke Uwland at pick 2, Carlton likewise matched a bid following at pick 3.

The Suns added multiple picks in the first round having accumulated enough points to match all bids.

Richmond had the next 2 live picks after West Coast, the Tigers selected Sam Cumming and Sam Grlj respectively.

Essendon added quality to their list with 3 early selections, Sullivan Robey, Jacob Farrow and Dyson Sharp all join the Bombers.

Latrelle Pickett was selected at pick 12 by Melbourne while Xavier Taylor was selected by the Demons at pick 11.
