For the second week in a row GWS Half-Back/Midfielder Lachie Whitfield will not play due to a leg cork, he is 27% owned in AFL Fantasy & 34% in SuperCoach.

Giants coach Leon Cameron described Whitfield as “more than likely” to play in Round 8 & was not named, based on the positive comments from Cameron it would be likely Whitfield will play in Round 9 against Carlton at Giants Stadium.

GWS Midfielder Josh Kelly was named in an extended squad with Cameron describing his position as “likely” today, Ruck Shane Mumford will miss Round 8 with a Knee injury.

Geelong Midfielder Patrick Dangerfield was named tonight but remains a test for Round 8, his spot likely won’t be guaranteed until Final Teams on Sunday.

Paddy Dangerfield looks as if he might be okay.. He will be a last minute proposition – Geelong Coach Chris Scott today.

Gary Ablett remains in the Geelong team despite an upcoming inevitable rest, Midfielder Charlie Constable was named on an extended bench with Chris Scott commenting “we couldn’t fit him in”.

Port Adelaide Midfielder Willem Drew is likely to see an increase in midfield usage as a result of the Ollie Wines injury, he averaged 22.5 Disposals in the absence of Wines in the opening 2 weeks of the season.

It wasn’t that long ago that Ollie (Wines) wasn’t in & (Willem) Drew had to step up in the centre.. He did it well then & I have full confidence he will do it well again for us – Michael Voss today.

2019 Injury Report: Round 8

Essendon key Forward Joe Daniher will be rested in Round 8 after pulling up sore last week, back-up Ruck Zac Clarke has been named with Ruck Tom Bellchambers still in the team despite suffering an Ankle injury last week.

Gold Coast Midfielder Brayden Fiorini will miss at least Round 8 with a knee injury, he did not appear on the Suns Injury List midweek.
