Fantasy News Today: 8 May, 2019

Patrick Dangerfield is Questionable to play in Round 8 as a result of a knee injury sustained against Essendon on Sunday, the injury has been described as a minor medial ligament strain that would require heavy strapping if he played this week (via  @Stevo7AFL).

Dangerfield has a heavy ownership across most season long fantasy platforms, he is currently owned by 68% of the competition in AFL Fantasy (including 98% of the Top 100) & 72% in SuperCoach.

Hopefully fantasy coaches are provided close to a full understanding of his injury situation on Thursday or Friday.

2019 Injury Report: Round 8


Richmond have quite a few injury concerns heading into Round 8, Daniel Riolo (Leg cork/chest) is Questionable while Nick Vlastuin is also Questionable with an Ankle injury.

Melbourne key Forward Sam Weideman will likely be unavailable for selection due to soreness, Collingwood key Forward/Ruck Mason Cox is unlikely to play in Round 8 due to an Ankle Injury.

By The Numbers: Points Per Inside 50 Round 7

Gold Coast rookie Izak Rankine will be sidelined for an additional 4-6 weeks, he initially injured his Hamstring in the final JLT Series game and was close to returning to football.

Pearce Hanley will likely be available for selection this week after missing Round 7 with a shin injury, Lachie Weller could also make a return for the Suns after missing 4 games due to a Hamstring injury.

Rising Star Award: Round 7

West Coast Ruck Tom Hickey completed training today & looks set to be available for Round 8, he was a Late Withdrawal in Round 7 due to a Hamstring issue.

“He trained today & we will see how he pulled up.. He got through all of training which is good.” Adam Simpson on Tom Hickey today.

Fremantle Half-Back/Midfielder Connor Blakely is ready for selection, Ross Lyon has made no public promises for Blakely who is returning from off-season Hamstring surgery.
