Another AFL season is in the books, there were plenty of betting opportunities throughout the year for punters.

PREMIERSHIP
After an injury interrupted start to their season Richmond won their second Premiership in 3 years, the Tigers were $4.75 favourites at the start of the season however by Round 14 they were out of the Final 8 & $17 to win the Flag.
Richmond eventually finished 3rd on the AFL ladder & made it through to the Grand Final, the Tigers were $1.41 to defeat Giants with a line of -17.5pts.
Richmond won by 89pts.

Six of the top 8 favourites secured a finals berth in 2019, Melbourne dropped to 17th on the ladder with a 5-17 record after being $1.21 prior to Round 1.
Adelaide fell away in the second half of the season to miss finals, the Crows were $1.04 prior to Round 15.
Brisbane & the Western Bulldogs were clear outside chances to play finals in the pre-season, the Lions were no better than their $3.10 quote during the H&A season while the Bulldogs were $12 prior to Round 15 to play finals.

Richmond & Collingwood were the top choices to finish Top 4, the Magpies had to rely on a last game loss by the Eagles to secure a Top 4 finish.
Brisbane were quoted at $9.00 to finish Top 4 prior to Round 1, the Lions surprised most with their rise up the ladder in 2019.
Geelong were a decent value selection to finish Top 4, the Cats played 9 games at GMHBA Stadium & finished on top of the ladder at the end of the 2019 H&A season.

Gold Coast were overwhelming favourites at $1.33 to finish last prior to the 2019 H&A season, Carlton started the season 0-5 and were wound into $1.33 pushing the odds of the Suns all the way out to $7.50 prior to Round 5.
After starting the season with a 3-1 record Gold Coast failed to win another game, by Round 17 the Suns were into $1.17 and with a loss to Carlton another wooden spoon was all but locked away.

BROWNLOW MEDAL
Nat Fyfe won his second Brownlow Medal in 2019, after starting the season as equal favourite at $7.00 he was in the top 5 in betting all season. Fyfe was $3.00 favourite prior to Round 22 but was overtaken by Patrick Dangerfield prior to Brownlow night, Dangerfield was last quoted at $2.45 just before counting began.
Fyfe averaged 29.2 Disposals, 4.8 Marks & 4.0 Tackles in 2019, he played 20 games in the H&A season.

COLEMAN MEDAL
Jeremy Cameron wasn’t among the top choices to win the 2019 Coleman Medal, he was at $15 prior to Round 1 however by Round 3 he was favourite at $3.50. Cameron remained favourite all year & was into $1.12 prior to Round 20, he missed games in Rounds 20 & 22 and was overtaken by Ben Brown ($1.12) prior to the final round of the season.
Brown kicked 2 Goals in his final game of the year, Cameron went to work against the Suns later that night kicking 9 Goals to win by 3.

RISING STAR AWARD
It was hard to dismiss the pre-season form & hype for Sam Walsh, at the start of the season he was already at $2.75 & by Round 6 he was wound into $1.33 to win the 2019 Rising Star Award. At Round 22 Walsh was $1.01 with no quote leading into Round 23, he secured all but 1 maximum votes in the award.
Walsh averaged 25.1 Disposals, 5.1 Marks & 3.2 Tackles, he played in all 22 games for the Blues.
Connor Rozee was $26 to win in 2019, he finished 2nd in the award.
