Gold Coast rookie Mitch Riordan injured his knee at training last week, scans confirmed a ruptured ACL with surgery required.
Riordan is expected to miss the 2020 season, the Suns will likely be patient with the young midfielder.
“He’s been a great addition to our group in his short time at the club and we’ll make sure that everyone within the club fully supports him during his rehabilitation period.” GM of Football Operations Jon Haines.
Riordan was selected at Pick 2 in the 2019 mid-season draft, he is yet to make his debut for the Suns.

Riordan was an outside chance to make an impression at the Suns in 2020, with a deeper list available compared to other AFL clubs competition will be strong to make an impact at AFL level.
Riordan won’t be an option in 2020.
