Gold Coast small forward Izak Rankine will miss the opening rounds of the 2020 H&A season, he strained his hamstring at training earlier this week.
The Suns are likely to be conservative with Rankine, he was unable to play in 2019 due to hamstring issues.
“Scans on his hamstring have confirmed a low-grade strain. We are all looking forward to Izak returning to the main group as soon as possible and pressing his claims for AFL selection,” Suns General Manager Football Operations, Jon Haines.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
The Injury for Rankine is a setback for fantasy coaches that identified him as a bottom priced rookie to generate cash while providing bench cover, the injury will likely cost him more than the regulation 3 weeks due to the likelihood of a condensed fixture.
Rankine is now a pass in classic.
