Sydney key forward Lance Franklin will likely be available to play in Round 2, he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after experiencing issues over the Christmas period.
Franklin was in the rehab group for most of the 2020 pre-season, however with the AFL season being suspended the additional time may see him miss just the one game.
“Lance is going really well. One of the silver linings of this period has been that it’s given players who had limited preparation a bit more time to get right,”
“He was just restarting skills training before the competition suspension, but he’s been able to train throughout the shutdown period.”
“He’s been running and completing all the training that we’ve asked him to. He’s ready to go and looking forward to a restart, hopefully soon.” Swans Head of Football Charlie Gardiner.Â
Franklin averaged 11.7 Disposals. 5.5 Marks & 2.7 Goals in 2019, he has played in 64.4% of games since the beginning of the 2018 H&A season.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
The return of Franklin could see Nick Blakey pushed up the ground more in to a wing type role, the extra marking option of Franklin for the Swans may also mean Issac Heeney could see an increase in midfield usage.
Sydney coach John Longmire opted to play a small forward line in Round 1 which seemed to work well at the Adelaide Oval against the Crows, Sam Reid is also nearing a return for the Swans.
Franklin may be an upgrade target for the back end of the 2020 H&A season.
