Sydney key forward Sam Reid is currently progressing well in his rehabilitation, he underwent knee surgery in late March.

The Swans are hopeful Reid will be close to being available when the AFL season resumes, he did not play in Round 1.

“Sam was off legs for about four weeks, but he has progressed well over the past couple of weeks and he ran well today,”

“We expect him to be able to do some skills training probably at the start of next week.”

“Depending on when the restart kicks off we are hopeful that he will be close to available, but it will depend on the timelines and how quickly things ramp up from here.” Swans Head of Football Charlie Gardiner.

Reid averaged 11.5 Disposals, 5.0 Marks & 1.3 Goals from 22 games in 2019.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

The Swans opted for a small forward line in Round 1 against Adelaide, Reid will be an option to return at some stage this season but also take into account the return of Lance Franklin.

Expect Nick Blakely to be pushed into more of a wing type role once Franklin &/or Reid resume playing.

Reid is not considered an option in season long fantasy, he averaged 80.8pts when kicking 2 Goals or more last season.
