Collingwood forward/ruck Mason Cox is currently dealing with a knee issue, he won’t participate in match simulation on Thursday night.
Cox will be assessed next week prior to Round 2.
Darcy Cameron would be the likely replacement for Cox in Round 2, Cameron moved to the Magpies at the end of last season from Sydney.
“That knock to the knee has been problematic, but we believe he’ll be right to fully train next week.”
“He will be down on a bit of match practice by the time he gets there. He did come out of the quarantine period in pretty good nick physically, so there’s no doubt he’s done the amount of work required from a fitness perspective.”
“It’ll just be that match fitness that we’ll have to make an assessment on next week.” Magpies Snr coach Nathan Buckley.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
If Cox were to miss for the Magpies in Round 2 then Darcy Cameron would be a like for like replacement, Cameron was impressive in the pre-season game against the Tigers finishing with 107pts which included 2 Goals, 12 Disposals, 20 Hit Outs & 7 Marks.
Cox is still the preferred option up forward for Collingwood, however that could all change if Cameron takes his opportunity if it eventuates in Round 2.
Long term Cameron is likely to see more game time at AFL level.
Cox is not considered an option for season long fantasy.
