Geelong

After an injury interrupted pre-season Mitch Duncan (DK $8,000, DS $14,090) played only 72% of games time in Round 1 against the Giants, he finished with 89pts which included 3 Goals.

Duncan has clearly benefited from the AFL season delay improving his fitness, as a result his on-field usage should increase along with his likely midfield usage.

Duncan was used at 34.4% of team CBA’s in Round 1, the midfield mix will likely change for the Cats in Round 2.

Hawthorn

Tom Mitchell (DK $9,000, DS $15,100) has crushed the Cats in his last 4 games, he has averaged 36.8 Disposals for 134.8pts* with all games being played at the MCG. The narrow ground of GMHBA Stadium may prevent Mitchell from getting out into space, but that could easily be off-set with an increase in his contested game.

The Hawks will be without midfielder Jaeger O’Meara in Round 2, expect the midfield usage for Mitchell to remain at a very high rate.

Mitchell was used at 80.8% of team CBA’s in Round 1.

Value

Liam Shiels (DK $6,900, DS $12,500) was used at just 30.8% of team CBA’s in Round 1, with the absence of Hawks midfielder Jaeger O’Meara (Round 1 CBA: 73.1%) in Round 2 he will likely see an increase in pure midfield usage.

In his last 3 games against the Cats Shiels has averaged 117.0pts* which includes an average of 10.0 Tackles, he matched up against Patrick Dangerfield in Round 18 last season & is every chance to be given that role again in what is expected to be a contested game.
