Hawks ruck Ben McEvoy looks set to be the No.1 option against Melbourne this week without Ceglar, McEvoy has been used in defence for most of the season.

Update 16 July: The Hawks have left the door open for Ceglar to play this week, the final 22 will be named on Friday night.

“Scans have revealed a small crack in the bone in Jon’s toe”

“It’s only a minor issue, and there’s still a good chance he might be right to go by Sunday’s game.”

“We’re lucky in that sense that we have a nine-day turnaround this week.”

“We’ll keep monitoring his fitness over the next 24 hours, and will make a final decision ahead of team selection tomorrow night.” GM of Football Graham Wright.

Ceglar is averaging 10.7 Disposals, 1.2 Marks, 3.2 Tackles  & 22.3 Hit Outs this season.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

The ruck spot at the Hawks just became a fair bit clearer at least for the short term without Ceglar, McEvoy will likely slot into the No.1 spot taking most of the hit out opportunities.

Ceglar is now a trade out in season long fantasy, he provided an option in the forward line with his dual position status.
