GWS Giants

Lachie Whitfield GWS (DK $7,500, DS $13,900) has been on fire recently averaging 99.0pts from his last 3 games, his salary hasn’t quite adjusted back to where it should be which does also present value for a premium player.

Whitfield will likely again have a licence to assist in defence and push hard up each wing, his proximity to the ball should remain strong throughout the game.

Popularity will be an obstacle for those looking to roster Whitfield on Saturday, expect ownership to be on the high side.

Nth Melbourne

Jy Simpkin NM (DK $7,300, DS $13,600) has moved into a pure midfield spot this season averaging 23.3 Disposals for the Kangaroos, through round 6 he has been used at 80.6% of CBA’s.

With the Tigers midfield under strength due to injuries this is a great spot for Simpkin to crush with the potential of little opposition attention, Richmond are a team that does focus on team structure which should put Simpkin in a decent spot to score well on Saturday night.

It is recommended rolling Simpkin through line-ups on the 3 game slate on Saturday, he may be slightly overlooked compared to other premium Mids.

Value

After just 29pts on debut last week Chad Warner SYD (DK $3,000, DS $5,000) once again appears as a value play in a 3 games slate, in Round 6 against Richmond he mainly played across half forward in poor conditions at the Gabba which made scoring difficult.

Conditions will be favourable at the SCG on Saturday, opportunity to be inserted into the Swans midfield against Gold Coast has increased with the injury to Josh Kennedy along with the team changes for this game with no genuine midfielder as a like for like replacement for Kennedy.

The contested type game Warner possesses is what the Swans desperately need, if he is exposed to the midfield then he should be in a position to exceed value.

Warner averaged 18.2 Disposals, 6.8 Tackles for Western Australia in the U18 Championships last year, he recorded 8 Disposals, 2 Marks & 2 Tackles last week on debut.
