Melbourne

Clayton Oliver MEL (DK $8,500, DS $16,470) is putting together a very solid season averaging 92.0pts, he has averaged 101.8pts from his last 4 games heading into an ideal match-up against an under performing Adelaide midfield on Wednesday night.

The usage in a pure midfield role for the Demons this season for Oliver has been high (Season CBA’s: 79.9%), he has averaged 27.0 Disposals in winning games & 24.0 Disposals in losing games in 2020. The Demons are -17.5pt favourite against the Crows.

Oliver is the highest priced midfield option on Wednesday night, expect ownership to be moderate-high despite the significant price tag.

Geelong

Mitch Duncan (DK $7,700, DS $14,630) has been in excellent form since returning from injury averaging 104.5pts from his last 2 games, prior to his very limited game time in Round 6 he averaged 95.0pts between Rounds 3-5.

The Kangaroos midfield has responded well in the last 2 weeks following a drop in output but Duncan should be able to navigate his way through what is an ideal scoring role moving up & down the wing, Duncan was also used at 54.2% of CBA’s in Round 9.

The current price for Duncan still represents value, many will be drawn to his recent high scoring games which will likely inflate ownership.

Value

Lachlan Sholl ADE (DK $2,500, DS $5,000) will make his AFL debut on Wednesday night against the Demons, he plays a half-back type role with the ability to hit targets at a high rate further up the ground.

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks has made 8 changes to the team for Round 10, the volatility with player roles within the team is currently high. In Round 9 against the Kangaroos Nicks moved Rory Laird into the midfield (CBA’s: 43.3%), he has moved Brodie Smith out of his half-back role on multiple occasions.

If Nicks continues to move experienced players away from their traditional roles it could open up the possibility that Sholl will be placed in his preferred role at half-back in game 1 of his AFL career, if that happens he should easily exceed value.
